 "Why am I short?" is a question that many people ask themselves. Height is influenced by many factors. In a society obsessed with physical appearance From childhood to adulthood, height, skin, facial after all good look can often be a source of insecurity for many individuals. Growing up, we are bombarded with images of what an ideal body should look like, , it’s easy to fall into a cycle of insecurities that affect our self-esteem and shape our outlook on life.  Fear of insecurity can have a huge impact on our personal private lives, holding us back from growth and fulfillment. But it’s important to remember that confidence isn’t about fitting in. It’s about embracing who you are and finding ways to overcome the obstacles that hold you back.

"Why am I shorter?" This is a question many people ask themselves. Height is influenced by various factors, including genetic and environmental factors. Genetics play an important role, but lifestyle, diet and exercise can affect your height prospects. Sometimes due to low height, we feel insecurities and if seen from this perspective, it starts affecting our confidence psychology and we are not able to be social due to which we have become less social, so it is good for introverts. Those who want to remain social in the society also suffer from social anxiety.

Many people ask, "Can I grow taller after age 21?"  Basically height has to grow till a certain age. The growth plate in females has closed from the age of 14 to 1 hu6 while in males the height growth has stopped between 16 to 18. but you can improve your posture and grow a few inches taller? there's more. But when the growth plates close you can't increase your height like hight increase 2 inches in a month or like more.


Growth plates, are located in areas of near the ends of long bones in the human body. They are important for bone growth and development, especially during childhood. These plates are responsible for the overall increase hight  and length of the bones.

The most common causes of short stature

Genetics : If your child's parents or grandparents are young, your child may also be young. This is called familial dwarfism. Additionally, height goals are only estimates, and some children may not grow as tall as expected.

Genetic conditions : Several genetic syndromes can cause short stature, including Prader-Willi syndrome, Turner syndrome, and Noonan syndrome.

Chronic disease : Growth hormone is produced by the pituitary gland in the center of the brain. Therefore, chronic medical problems affecting the pituitary gland can also affect growth. For example, childhood cancer and its treatment can cause short stature because radiation to the brain can affect the function of the pituitary gland. Gastrointestinal diseases that affect nutrition, such as inflammatory bowel disease or celiac disease, can also affect growth. Many other medical conditions can also slow growth rate, such as hypothyroidism, heart disease, kidney disease, immune disorders, and several other endocrine disorders.

Growth hormone deficiency: Some children, such as those born with an underdeveloped pituitary gland, do not produce enough growth hormone.

Malnutrition : Malnutrition is a common cause of stunting, whether caused by inadequate nutrition, an eating disorder, or an underlying disease or treatment that affects appetite.

Psychosocial stress. "Whether it's through the violence of war or famine, or simply because children live in a less nurturing home environment, children can suffer from psychosocial stresses that prevent them from developing properly," Dr. says. If we talk about the updates of 2021, there is no such scientific evidence but still there is some truth that you can increase your height by 2.5 inches to 4 inches in 60 days to 120 days. This is depend on your Harmons and your growth mindset.  If 

I am sharing my routine which helped me gaining height, might help you too.

  1. Get morning walks for at least 20 minutes. Work your way up to increase your speed and time, gradually. After 2 weeks, convert those walks into sprints of 300 m and finally move to endurance running extending upto 2-3 kilometers in a single go.
  2. Add sprouts in your diet. Try to take the sprouts prior to running.
  3. After jogging, rest for 5 minutes and perform 3-4 sets of push ups/pull ups, whatever is easy for you in the beginning, each set containing 20 rounds. Take a rest of 1 minute between the sets.
  4. After pull/push ups, skip. Get a skipping rope and start skipping. Since you are a beginner, do whatever you can easily do, like 50 skips.
  5. Grab your old bicycle and go for kilometer long ride. Gradually increase this distance to 5 kilometers.
  6. Your diet shall contain protein. 2 glasses of milk, 1 bowl of pulses/soya and 3 eggs daily would do.
  7. And take the supplement 15 minutes before meals with or without water. After that, do breathing exercises after eating the food. for 27 sec.
  8. Do all the above things for atleast a month to see any change.
